Hello everyone. First post. I just picked up my first kayak a few weeks ago and would like a good crappie spot. When I was younger we used to fish Decker a lot in our boat with a fish finder, but I am without the electronics to help me. Also what bait are you crappie fisherman using? It has always been live minnows for me but I would like to try my hand at artificials. Jigs and such.

Thanks,
Ryan

According to the TPWD web site crappie have been good on chartruese jigs around brush piles in 10-15 feet of water on Granger Lake. I am going to try and hit it next week.

It looks like I will be heading to the primative boat ramp on the san gabriel. Paddle up towards the lake setting out jug lines fishing for cats, also bringing along 3 dozen minnows and a green light to fish for crappie. A buddy of mine tore them up last weekend he was telling me.

We used to limit with minnows under lights on Decker back in the day. One of these days I am going to get a chance to go out to granger.
