Greetings all, I wanted to take a quick moment to introduce myself. First, I wanted to thank Dennis for putting together and managing AKF. It’s a great resource and look forward to seeing what’s in store for the future of kayak angling in Central Texas.
Well, at 34 years old, I am married to a wonderful woman and the proud father of a beautiful two-year-old girl. I was born in South Texas but moved to Austin in 1991 and currently reside in Cedar Park. I have been fishing with my Dad since childhood with many fond memories. It was a simple time with a couple of lawn chairs, Zebco reels, hooks, sinkers, floats and live minnows. Oh and how can I forget the spicy peanuts, pork rinds and orange sodas.
While in my 20s I continued to enjoy fishing but my friends and I always envied those that could reach the hot spots with their big powerboats…things changed. In the late 90s, while fishing from the bank, I saw a guy drag a kayak out of his truck, pack his gear and within minutes was heading down the river…I was sold.
I always dreamed of running my own business and 2 years ago, I decided that owning a small boat shop was a perfect fit for me. However, it wasn’t until this past New Year’s Day that I decided to officially launch Lakeline Watersports. I am currently running the shop online and on a part-time basis but working hard to open the doors to the physical store this year. At this time, I am a dealer for Heritage Kayaks and Native Watercraft and working to offer another line later this summer.
I look forward to meeting all of you.
Roland "Bones" Jimenez

| Welcome to AKF Bones.. Those Native craft look like the next innovation in hybrid kayak design. Are you going to have a demo days? you could always piggyback a KATS tourney date (hint hint). Hurricane yaks to boot.. See you on the water.. |

I would be very interested in trying out a Native Yak. From what I've read and heard, they are very stable, roomy , easy to handle and you can stand in them. _________________ Live the Dream! |

Well, I guess I should update this. As you may already know, Lakeline Watersports is no more but I now own PflugFun a family friendly kayak rental facility on Lake Pflugerville.
I am now 37 years old, living in Pflugerville and VERY happy to be spending more time with my family than at my shop. However, I do miss selling kayaks and chatting about kayak fishing with my customers. I am looking forward to this coming fall when I plan to get my new kayak and hopefully plenty of time on the water doing some fishing.
One thing for sure, you'll see me at the next "Redfish Roundup"! |
